What is Estonian e-Residency?
Estonia are pioneers of digital identity and government e-services. e-Residency is Estonia’s globally accessible solution to allow access to Estonian digital services. As an e-Resident, you will be issued a digital identity and status by the Estonian government that grants you access to the nation’s government e-services.
Why should I apply for Estonian e-Residency?
You should make your own assessment as to whether the programme is beneficial to you. However, if you are a UK entrepreneur or business looking to establish an EU footprint, e-Residency makes a strong case for enrolment. You can:
- Set up an Estonian business in minutes - Estonian businesses are EU businesses. This process can be completed 100% remotely, including the setting up of a bank account.
- Freedom of location - Estonian e-Residency can be applied for and granted online and your card can be presented to you in Leeds at the consulate.
- Reduce bureaucracy - with all files stored digitally, paper copies of documents are unnecessary, saving both time and resources.
How to apply for Estonian e-Residency
Quarterly e-Residency card issuing ceremonies will be held at the Estonian Consulate in Leeds. To pick your e-Residency card up from Leeds, please make sure to state Leeds as your pick-up point during the application process.
The consulate can guide you through the process of application and provide information that you can use, in conjunction with your nominated business advisors, to choose whether this is the right solution for you.
Is Estonia a tax haven?
No. However, the tax structure in Estonia is highly favourable to businesses who wish to reinvest profits into growth. We cannot provide tax advice but we can make introductions to those who can.
